Assisting and Moving Individuals in Social Care Settings

These qualifications have been developed in partnership with Skills for Care and Development in consultation with employers to support government strategies to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in assisting and moving of people in a variety of care settings.  

They are aimed at  a range of occupational areas in the NHS and other statutory, private and voluntary agencies.

NOCN Level 2 Certificate in Assisting and Moving Individuals for Social Care Settings

 This qualification aims to:

  • improve understanding of the health and safety issues involved in assisting and moving people
  • develop knowledge of the strategies, techniques and equipment used
  • confirm competence where appropriate
  • raise awareness of a variety of issues affecting people in social care.

This qualification aims to cover the workplace induction of those involved in the assisting and moving of people as part of their care and support plan.
