External Verification

External Verifiers are appointed to a Recognised Centre where there are no Approved Internal Verifiers; or as a requirement of the qualification; or where large numbers of learners have been registered. External Verifiers will:

• Sample assessment and learner evidence of achievement.
• Ensure that rigorous processes are in place for the assessment, tracking and recording of individual learner achievements in accordance with OCN requirements.
• Sign off Recommendations for the Award of Credit where no Internal Verifiers have been appointed to do so.

External Verifiers are appointed for a sector or cluster of courses and will scrutinise the evidence for all units offered by the Centre in that sector or cluster.

External Verifiers reports are made available to the Centre and form an important source of evidence for the Centre quality improvement plan.
