NOCN Entry Level Award and Certificate in Media Literacy

The following two new qualifications have now been accredited by the QCA:

NOCN Entry Level Award in Media Literacy (Entry 3) (QCF)
NOCN Entry Level Certificate in Media Literacy (Entry 3) (QCF)

They have been developed to provide an introduction to, and a basic understanding of, the media with a view to encouraging individuals to actively engage with, question and interpret the information and images presented to them through a range of media formats.

With a global communications industry that is constantly expanding in a wide range of formats, it is becoming increasingly important to ensure that all individuals in society, regardless of age or ability, are provided with the opportunity to learn about the media and how it affects their lives. These Media Literacy qualifications are of particular importance to those who are major users of mass media products, many of whom are from vulnerable groups in society.
