The learner has always been at the focus for everything OCN Eastern Region does. For over 25 years, we have been at the forefront of delivering credit-based learning which the Government is now adopting as a national scheme.

OCN Eastern Region offers NOCN qualifications, delivered by colleges and learning centres, which gives you, the learner, the real opportunity to develop the skills you need to progress in life – whether it’s finding employment for the first time or achieving a place at university. The range of courses we offer meets the diverse needs of learners. We also help colleges, employers and many others develop their own credit-based courses which we can then accredit.

The credit-based approach offers many benefits to the learner. They are:

• flexible – you can complete units or qualifications to gain credits towards a nationally recognised qualification,
• motivational – achieving ‘bite-sized’ learning credits encourages you to continue learning through recognition of your achievement,
• individual – learn at your own pace and be assessed in a way that is most appropriate to you,
• achievable – credits are fully inclusive to everyone in society, no matter of their particular abilities.
